Information the connection uses

The connection uses Google Drive backup files and their metadata, such as file names and identifiers, to upload, organize, check and manage backup copies. It also uses authorization credentials that allow WHM to run scheduled transfers without requiring the owner to sign in each time.

Its Google Drive access is limited by the drive.file permission to files it creates or that the owner explicitly shares with it. It does not request access to Gmail, Google Calendar or Google Contacts.

The backup archives come from the hosting server. Depending on the selected accounts and settings, they can contain website content, hosted email, databases and server configuration. Hosted email in these archives is separate from access to the Gmail API.

How information is used

Files and metadata are used for backup storage, transfer checks, recovery and retention management. They are not used for advertising, profiling, sale, or training machine learning models.

Jupiter Backups' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Storage and access

Backup archives are kept on the Jupiter server and transferred to the owner's authorized Google Drive account. Authorization credentials used for scheduled transfers are stored on the server. Backup transfers to Google use HTTPS.

Backup files are intended for the owner and authorized administrators and are not published by this connection. Google provides the Drive storage service, and Network Solutions provides the VPS hosting; their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services.

WHM compression is not encryption. The owner should keep Drive sharing private and protect the server, Google account and backup credentials.

Retention and removal

Backup retention is controlled through WHM. Older remote backups may be removed as those settings are applied. Files may remain longer when transfers or pruning fail, or when copies are retained separately by the owner.

The owner can revoke this connection in the Google Account's third-party connections settings. Revoking access stops future authorized operations; it does not automatically remove backup files already stored in Drive. Those files can be removed directly by the owner.

This information website

These static pages do not include analytics, advertising, tracking scripts, cookies or a submission form. The hosting server may record normal web access logs, including IP addresses and requested pages.
